Loose Gemstones
We have one of the largest collections of finished Montana Sapphire Gemstones available to the general public anywhere. Clearance gems are priced as low as $5 each. Top color flawless stones fetch over $2,000 per carat. The average price for a one carat sapphire gemstone with good color is $600. More than likely we have gemstone to meet your needs and budget.
We have "Clearance" gemstones which do not exhibit the color saturation we desire for our high end pieces of jewelry priced at $50 per carat. At $50 per carat a small gemstone only costs $5 and a half carat stone only $25. The clearance gemstone tray is a very cost effective way to acquire small accent stones for jewelry you may be building or obtain finished Gem Mountain Montana Sapphire Gemstones for your collection.
Our higher end loose gemstones are priced individually. All stones will exhibit good color and cut. Some will have very minor eye visible flaws (and a correspondingly lower price). We determine the price based upon the color saturation, the presence of flaws (if any) and the size of the stone. Accent stones up to one-quarter carat are priced at $200 to $250 per carat (generally, $20 to $75 each). One-third carat stones are priced at around $300 per carat ($100 each). Half carat stones average $400 per carat ($200 each). Stones over half a carat are priced individually at $450 to $600 per carat. Pink stones are always priced higher because of their scarcity and beauty. Any stone with exceptional color and clarity is priced higher. For example: a neon-blue one carat stone with no eye visible flaws will be priced at $1,000. Collector stones in the two and three carat range are very rare and depending upon color and quality are priced at $4,000 to $20,000.
